Light as an illuminating System

Light is a form of radiation that makes visibility possible, but in  Genesis 1: 3 we see that light carries a far deeper meaning. 

The Greek word for light, phōs, means luminous illumination. It speaks of visibility, sight, and revelation—illumination coming into a place where darkness once prevailed.

When God declared, “Let there be light,” He was not merely calling forth a physical object that emits light. He was introducing illumination itself into creation.

Genesis 1:3 — Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

These light brought light into existence. God saw that this light was good and separated the light from the darkness. This moment tells us that ight existed before the sun, the moon, and even before man was formed.

Later in creation, God established physical sources of light.

Genesis 1:16 — God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

This shows us that while the sun and moon are sources of light, light itself is a state of divine order, revelation, and clarity.

Before light appeared, Scripture describes the earth as without form and void, covered in darkness, while the Spirit of God hovered over the surface of the deep. Chaos, emptiness, and darkness existed simultaneously. Then light came—and with it, order began.

This pattern still applies today. When the Holy Spirit enters the life of a person, He hovers. And when He hovers, He brings a holy disturbance that causes areas of a man's life marked by emptiness, dryness, confusion, and lacks direction begin to shift. Darkness reacts, why? Because light has arrived.

As illumination increases, clarity follows. God begins to order what was once disordered, turning a life into an illuminating system that reflects His purpose.

Jesus affirms this truth when He declares that we are “the light of the world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden.” Beloved, we are not merely recipients of light—we are carriers of divine illumination.

When God calls a person into His phōs, He sets them apart. This creative and illuminating light aligns, orders, and positions them according to divine purpose. Light is not just something we see—it is a state we enter when God speaks.

And when God speaks light, chaos must give way to order.

LIGHT AND WARFARE

When JJ and I began studying the book of beginnings—Genesis—we found ourselves lingering on one powerful phrase: “And God saw that it was good.” 

We declared in that moment: “We step into the good of God!”  

That “good” brought us into the light—the very light that God Himself called good.

For a long time, I thought of warfare as something reserved for only certain aspects of the Christian life.  

“Christ has already paid the price,” I reasoned. “Do we really still need to fight?”

But then the Scripture says, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God…” (2 Corinthians 10:4)  

If God has given us weapons, then we’ve been called to war.

There is a war.

And it is staged by the enemy—daily.

Warfare must become a way of life.

As long as we live in this world, we will face battles—in our health, our marriages, our careers, our ministries.  

And God is saying:  

The light you need to live in cannot exist alongside darkness—you must war for it.

Every day, we must posture our hearts and ask:  

“Lord, teach me how to war for the light I’m meant to walk in.”

And here’s what’s wild—God’s weapons don’t always look like swords and shouting.  

Sometimes, warfare is found in the sound you make,  

the silence you keep,  

the forgiveness you give,  

the songs you listen to,  

the books you read,  

the way you raise your children,  

the movies you consume,  

the decisions you make under pressure.

When you pray, study the Word, and worship,  

God tailors every part of your life to fight back against the enemy’s strategy.

He doesn’t want us ignorant.  

He wants us alert, standing at the gates—declaring war, even in moments that feel like peace.

Jesus is Light.

And we must take a posture to enter into that Light.

Welcome to your season of encounters with light

Welcome to 2026 — the year in which the Lord will cause His light to shine upon our paths and lead us into daily encounters with His light.

For some time, I pondered and prayed concerning God’s word for us in the year 2026, and my heart continually rested on light. The Scripture says, “And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:5).

A few days ago, while praying, I had a vision. I saw myself walking along a dark path. As I continued, I noticed a bright light resting ahead on the remainder of the walkway. In that moment, it became clear to me that indeed God’s word for us in this season is John 1:5 — the light shines in darkness, and darkness cannot comprehend it.

You see, the agenda of Satan is to keep God’s people in darkness — in a state where they feel unloved, unfavoured, unaccepted, unrighteous, and unsettled. But Scripture reminds us: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.”

In this year, the Lord is saying He will remove the veil of darkness the enemy has placed over His people — a veil that has prevented His light from shining upon them. The Lord says, “You have walked in darkness in your business, your career, your marital life, your relationships with Me and with people — but now it is time to stand still and know that I am Light.”

When we search the Scriptures, we discover that the word light is mentioned over 200 times. This reveals how intentional God is about light. The very first mention of light appears in Genesis 1:3: “And God said, ‘Let there be light.’”
This was not a statement of condition — it was a divine command, a creative verb that called light into existence.

The light the Lord intends to bring into your life is not something you struggle, pay, or hope for. It is a light you can be certain will come. Therefore, in this season, it is time for us to take a posture of prayer, commitment, obedience, and service — to God and to mankind.

The light He releases is for those who follow Him. Scripture says, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” There is a clause here — willingness and obedience.

So in this moment, as we prepare to encounter the light of Elohim, we must change our posture and rely solely on Him to send the rain.

THE END THAT SEEMS LIKE A BEGINNING

Whenever I sit down to watch a movie, the moment the characters round off the action and "The End" appears on the screen, I instinctively switch off the device or move on to the next film.  

But today, while meditating on the story of Daniel, the Holy Spirit highlighted something profound: what looked like the end for Daniel was actually the beginning of something greater.

If Daniel’s story had ended with his captivity (Daniel 1:1–6), we would never have known the man God raised up as a result of his consecration and faithfulness.  

Just like many movies that end with *“To be continued…” or a teaser line like “Merlin will be back”, God also writes comeback stories.

Your captivity is not the end.

It might just be the beginning of a powerful series—a journey of faith, tests, and divine lifting.

Daniel’s life teaches us that:  

- You can have deep faith and still face lions (Daniel 6:16–23).

- You can walk with God and still go through fire (Daniel 3:19–27).

- You can love God and still be threatened with death.

But none of these experiences change God’s love or His commitment to you (Romans 8:35–39).

Every time life tries to write “The End” over your story, by faith, you can replace it with:  

“To be continued… by God.”

If Jesus' story didn’t end in the grave but rose in victory (Luke 24:6–7), then that’s your cue: your story isn’t over either.  

A victorious chapter awaits if you will stay with the Lord.

Yes, these words may sound familiar. You may have heard them over and over.  

But during a prayer session, JJ said something simple yet eternal:  

“Jesus is the answer.”

And it’s true.

Life will always ask questions—through pain, rejection, fear, failure, doubt, sickness, divorce, famine, war, poverty...

But can we respond with trust?

Jesus is the answer.

And through Him—you are a vessel of that answer.

Jesus is the answer.
