How Do We Receive God When He Comes?

The chaos the world constantly experiences isn’t because we can’t hear God; it’s because most times, we don’t recognize when He speaks or when He comes.

One of the greatest virtues we must cultivate while waiting on God is patience—the patience to wait until He comes. Like Abraham, our focus should remain on the assurance that He will surely come. He is that faithful lover who never forgets His appointment.

Beloved, God is asking us today, “Can you wait for Me?”

“I am coming—but can you wait on the mount?”

The fact that I haven’t come yet doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten our meeting. I know why you’re calling for it, and I’m putting the necessary things in place—the strategies, the alignments. I’m developing in you the capacity you need to survive. So, can you wait for Me?

I’m not asking you to wait in frustration, but to believe in hope even when hope seems lost.

Daily, our hopes are challenged by unmet expectations and life’s pressures. But remember, I’m not just the God who gives; I’m the God who transforms. I’m shaping you into My image and likeness. When you begin to look like Me, then I can fully dwell in you.

Still, I want you to wait.

Truthfully, I’ve never really liked the idea of waiting. When a trusted friend or family member says, “Please wait for me, I’ll bring the items over,” I often start wondering—why aren’t they here yet? People are moving, but I’m not. What if they think I’m lost? What if they feel I’ve missed it?

Often, those are the same thoughts that run through our minds while waiting on God. But we can build our hope like Abraham—believing that God always comes.

He is never late.

His timing is the complete package.

Romans 4:18 (KJV):

“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.”

WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO IN TIMES OF TROUBLE?

Scripture says,

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”Psalm 121:1–2

This is a clear reminder of who and where our help truly comes from. In times of uncertainty and fear, our hope must remain in God, for He alone is our Helper.

When the man at the Beautiful Gate encountered Peter and John, what he asked for was alms—just enough to get by. He had been lame for over forty years (Acts 4:22). By this time, he was no longer expecting healing; he only wanted to survive.

He sat daily at a beautiful gate, yet his life was anything but beautiful.
Oh what a contradiction!
Many of us have been in situations where we are surrounded by good things, hearing testimonies from everyone else, yet feeling left out.

But that day, his story changed.
His encounter with Peter and John and the healing introduced him to Jesus, the true Helper. What he thought he needed (alms) was not what he truly needed. What he needed was a change in story, and that’s what God gave him.

Beloved, sometimes what we think we want is not what we truly need. But when we look up to the Helper, He looks upon us with mercy and gives us what we truly need.

I bring you this announcement today that Your Ebenezer, your Helper, has come!
Help has shown up for you.
Proclaim it. Own it. Prophesy it.

HIDDEN IN THE DARKNESS ARE TREASURES

After darkness comes light. And when light is introduced into darkness, there is sight — the ability to see.
Hidden within darkness are treasures, but those treasures remain unseen until the light is introduced. And that light is Jesus.

 Isaiah 45:3–4

“I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
That you may know that I, the Lord,
Who call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.
For Jacob My servant’s sake,
And Israel My elect,
I have even called you by your name;
I have named you, though you have not known Me.”

God is saying to you: You are not coming out of this situation empty.
You are coming out stronger and with treasures—not only spiritual, but physical.

There are treasures hidden in darkness; that’s why God allowed you to go through that phase. He knows the process will help you dig deep—through prayer, study of the Word, personal development, and upskilling yourself—to uncover the treasures He has placed there.

Scripture says He knew us and named us even when we did not know ourselves.
We often say, “I know myself,” but when the Lord begins to reveal us to ourselves, we realize how little we truly knew.

From when I was young, if someone asked my favorite color, I would say, “I don’t know.”
Then one day, I had a dream—I was wearing an emerald green gown with gold, and it was so beautiful. Though the dream had a deeper meaning, one thing stood out: God showed me the color that suits me. I later noticed that whenever I wear green, I receive many compliments and look radiant.

The Lord knows us completely. He is aware of the darkness we walk through, and He is bringing you out of that chaos—not just with fire to help others, but with treasures and evidence—so that all will know you have encountered God.

The Breaking of the Gates of Brass

In life, many times we come face to face with blockages. We try so hard with our human efforts to break through, but it often feels as though these barriers are made of brass—the more we try to break them down, the harder they seem.

But God has already made provision for every brass door or gate we encounter in the journey of life.

In Isaiah 45:2, the Lord declares:

 “I will go before you
And make the crooked places straight;
I will break in pieces the gates of bronze
And cut the bars of iron.”

Brass represents blockages, barriers, and bondage. In ancient times, brass (or bronze) was a strong, resilient material used for fortifications, making “gates of brass” a powerful symbol of strength and resistance.

In the journey of life, we often face gates that seem unbreakable—but the Lord has already made provision for them. He is saying that we are not alone in this walk; He has gone before us. Brass can represent sickness, delay, setbacks, or fear—but God has seen it all, and He has gone ahead of us to break them.

Notice that He didn’t say, “I will weaken the gates,” but rather, “I will break them in pieces.” That’s how I know sickness is shattered, disease is shattered, delays are removed, and setbacks are cleared—because the Lord has gone before you to break the gates of bronze!

That false sense of security—the “brass” that seemed like godliness but was really a trap from hell—receives the fire of God and is broken to pieces!

The first time the gate of bronze was mentioned in Scripture was in Psalm 107:16:

“For He has broken the gates of bronze,
And cut the bars of iron in two.”

It speaks of the shattering of these gates.

So, friends, gird up and pray your way through! Do not be silent. If you ignore it, it will continue—but don’t let it remain. The Lord God has already gone ahead of you; He’s waiting for you to rise, pursue, and confront that demonic gate.

Stand up and pray till you sense the shattering of this gates.

When the Lord Calls for Ark Builders

It’s very easy to hear a prophetic word and, because it births that which we desire, we run with it. Just recently, I caught a prophetic word for this season, and since then, I have been doing that which I think is the best posture to take.

But as time went by, the structure didn’t quite settle in, and in that very moment, all I could think of was—what if this could be an ark? What if the Lord didn’t just want to bring His people into places of upliftment but rather set up an ark—a center of preservation for the generation He wants to birth?

The enemy is on a rampage, and he has hidden in several ideologies. Through this, he is tainting God’s seed so we are unable to birth that which would bruise the head of the serpent. But here is God saying again: At the very first moment I gave you the business idea, I gave you the marriage, I gave you the job, I gave you the relationship, the contract, the property—so it would be a seed to bruise the head of the serpent; an ark, a safe haven for a generation constantly plagued by the devices of the enemy.

If I could create cartoons, then as God’s child I would see that a loophole has been made by the enemy. And so, my counter-response would be to birth a counter-warfare strategy—to bruise the head of the serpent so a generation doesn’t get wiped away by identity crisis and misinformation, beloved, can you just pause—I just did—and ask:

“Lord, what kind of safe haven would You like me to build?

What kind of parenting strategy would You have me use?

What kind of wife would You have me be?

What kind of husband would You have me be?

Is this leadership strategy I use lethal enough to bruise the serpent’s head?”

God isn’t just looking for partnership; He is also very interested in people who would seek Him to build a partnership that becomes a warfare strategy.

For everything we do is God’s warfare strategy—even in the way we love.

Would you allow God to go to war using the very seed you just birthed?

What did you say?

How did you respond when you saw the dry bones?

I have been on a study of the book of Ezekiel 37 for a while now, but today, as I wanted to move on to chapter 38, I felt the Lord lead me back to it again. And for the very first time in over twenty days of reading the same chapter, this question jumped right at me: "What did you say to the dry bones?" Ezekiel's dialogue with God moved from a conversation with God to a conversation with the bones, the winds, and then to Israel and her crisis.

For a conversation that started with this question:

Ezekiel 37:3 (NKJV)
And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

The conversation became more of a battle of words. The Lord kept asking Ezekiel: *Can this? Can that? Say to the bones, speak to the wind… But for every word Ezekiel obeyed and spoke, it became a different reality — they lived.

Ezekiel 37:9 (NKJV)
Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”
What did you say when the car broke down? You cursed and swore, "It’s definitely going to be a bad day. I knew it." But that was just a car — something that enhances your journey. What about your life?

There are moments I feel so stuck, and then I self-sabotage: "I knew I wasn’t good enough. I knew I would fail. I knew the business would fail. I knew I wouldn’t get the project." But today, God is saying: Say what I say.

I know you're tempted to describe the deadness and dryness of your situation, but you know what, Ese? You can speak *God’s own words* to this situation that’s leaving you feeling lost.

Don’t say what you feel. Say to the situation: "I know you are this way, but my God said He would cause breath to enter into you, and you will live."

I didn’t fail the interview because I was a failure. My God has a plan — all I have to do is align with it, because the four winds give life to every part of my existence. And so, I live.

I don’t live based on man’s standard; I live because God is my life. So I say: Live.

Today, choose to say to that life-threatening situation: Live!

Food to Eat

What food did you eat after the fast? While having a talk with my kids about the temptation of Jesus, a teaching class became more like a highlight point for the Holy Spirit to minister through. After Jesus’ fasting, He wanted food. Immediately after His period of waiting on the Lord, His body reacted by being hungry. Satan saw this hunger as an opportunity to present his offer. The enemy always sees our hunger — most times after the wait — the enemy sees our taste for that which we waited for, and he comes to present a counter alternative.

But just like Jesus, would we immediately sense Satan's ability to take advantage of our hunger and feed us his diet — and reject him? Or rather, embrace his lies to feed our hunger?

The hunger could be a marital partner, the alternative to raising a child, the business structure, the career path, the health issue. What food would you eat to satisfy the hunger in your spirit and also the physical pangs that cry out within you?

After the fast, the praying, the seasons of waiting — the devil comes and questions our sonship with God. The promises the Lord has spoken to us — he challenges them and tells us he has a better offer: the world, the glory, the liberty — if we could choose his way.

Most times, after the confirmation and the promises, we go into a period of hunger. After I was prophetically told that I would bear a child, the periods ceased. The child became more rebellious after God gave you the strategy to raise them. The marriage worsened. But all this hunger could only be answered by constant posture through the Word of God.

Recently, after going on a fast and receiving promises from God, two days later I was met with a mail stating a rejection from a company I had applied to. But God cannot lie. By faith, we press into every word He has given us — because God cannot lie.

Revive with JJ family — God cannot and will not lie to you.

DRUNK IN THE HOLYGHOST

This phrase has been rung in my spirit as I thought on what to write— Drunk in the Holy Ghost!

Back in my university days, there was a program on campus. I couldn’t attend, but something about it stayed with me. The words spoken during the campus rally has stuck to my spirit man since then — “Drunk in the Holy Ghost!”

Friends, this generation needs that kind of intoxication again.

The enemy is on a rampage — he is trying so hard to silence the move of the Spirit and reduce the knowledge of the Holy Ghost in the lives of men.

But when Jesus ascended, He said, “I will not leave you as orphans, I will send you a Helper.”

That Helper is the Holy Ghost — the life-giving Spirit!

He is the One who gives us the strength to live victoriously on this earth.

He regenerates our human spirit because it is our spirit that looks like God.

When Scripture says we were made in the image of God, it’s not referring to our body — it’s our spirit!

The body is only the container that carries the divine nature of God.

To live triumphantly, we must be in sync with Heaven.

We must resonate on the same frequency with God so we can navigate the issues of life with wisdom and power!

God's word speaking in:

Acts 2:13–15 (KJV)

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

And when the Holy Ghost came upon the disciples, people looked at them and said, “These men are drunk!”

They were not entirely wrong — the disciples were indeed drunk, but not with new wine! They were drunk with the Spirit of God!

So, if being “drunk” means being filled with boldness and divine power —

If it means breaking free from fear and doubt —

If it means being stirred to take steps into the next season of our destiny —

Then let us be drunk!

Let us be consumed with the Holy Ghost until everything within us aligns with Heaven’s fire!

Yes, they may say we are drunk…

But we are not drunk with wine — we are drunk with the Holy Ghost!

UNASHAMED

What Gospel Do You Carry?

Is it the gospel of peace or of destruction?
Is it the gospel of violence or of wasting?

God’s Word in Isaiah 61:1 declares:

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor.”

As Christians, the Lord has given us a mandate—to preach the gospel. It’s not a call reserved for a certain group of people or a particular breed of believers; it’s a call for all who bear His name.

We are sent to proclaim good tidings to the poor, to declare the good news of our dominion in Christ Jesus. The gospel we carry is not one void of power or evidence. When preached, it heals the brokenhearted and sets the captives free.

We carry a message that opens prison doors—releasing those bound by generational patterns, demonic strongholds, and foundational limitations. This gospel brings liberty to destinies, restoration to creativity, healing to the mind, and revival to the economy of lives and nations.

We don’t just preach words; we preach life itself, and that Jesus. When the Word is spoken with revelation, ancient gates tremble, because when you discover the right Scripture, your liberation is certain.

We preach the gospel of Christ—the gospel of peace and the redemption of mankind back to God. Out of the ashes, God calls forth beauty.

So we cannot be ashamed of this gospel. For if the Lord were ashamed of us, where would we be today?

Friends, it’s time to unashamedly declare your position in Christ.
For Jesus said,

“If you are ashamed of Me before men, I will also be ashamed of you before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33)

Stand bold. Carry the true gospel—the gospel of peace, power, and redemption.

The Good of God

The word “good” has been redefined by the world. We often label things as good based on our own perceptions — “That’s a good marriage,” “a good house,” “a good family.”But have we ever paused to ask: What was God’s definition of good before the fall?

In Genesis, when God created everything, He saw that it was good — a kind of good that transcends human standards, societal morals, or cultural expectations. A good untouched by the distortion the enemy has poured over mankind.

There are moments I come across an idea and feel it's good. But when I share it, someone else responds with doubt, disappointment, or disapproval — because it wasn’t their kind of good. This clash of definitions reveals how often we fall short of God’s original standard.

Everyone may think this is the person I should marry, this is the job I should take, or this is the path I should walk. But God’s version of good might look completely different — because His will is both good and acceptable.

While praying, I kept hearing God say: *“You will become the definition of My good.” That’s the posture that helps us stay aligned with His purpose.

God’s “good” may not always make sense to those around you. But remember: when He looked at Adam and creation, He called it good — and then He blessed it.

That means: we only access God’s blessings when we walk in His definition of good.

So today, as you face life’s choices, don’t measure them by worldly standards. Ask instead: Is this the good of God?

And in that moment, the Lord will look at:
- The way you raise that child, and call it good.
- The marriage you choose, and call it good.
- The business or career you pursue, and call it good.

Our whole existence, aligned with His will, becomes “good” in His eyes.

Yes, the fall stole our good.
But we can return to the Father — and seek out His good again.

What Do You See?

I’ve always heard this analogy: one person saw an orange fruit, another saw the variants of the orange—orange juice; yet another saw a groundnut, while someone else saw peanut butter. This highlights the importance of what we see as we walk with God.

God created us to always see something. Our ability to see determines how far we can go in Him and what we can receive from Him.

Exodus 7:1 — “See, I have made you as god to Pharaoh.”
The word "see" here comes from the Hebrew word:

- Hebrew: re’eh
- Root: ra’ah (רָאָה)
- Meaning: to see, look, perceive, or behold.

In this context, it’s used as an imperative — a command: “Look!” or “Behold!”

In that moment, God was awakening Moses—calling him to rise from spiritual slumber. The victory wasn’t only going to be won on the day of confrontation, but had already begun when God gave him the assignment.

As far as our eyes can see—God’s word for that situation, His victory over the enemy—we can war with it. Our physical eyes aren’t the only thing needed, but also the ability to perceive what’s happening in God’s agenda. We see it, look at it, perceive it, and then behold it.

God is asking us today:
- “Have you seen what I said concerning this battle?”
- “Have you seen that victory could be yours if you simply posture in this direction?”
- “Have you seen the path, even if it doesn’t look like it physically?”
- “Have you seen that I once turned water into wine, so turning water into bread is no new feat? I am the One who thrives in impossibilities.”

I build on impossibilities—but I need you to see it first*. Let it become so real that it becomes your reality. This isn’t walking in deception. It’s like Abraham believing he was the father of many nations despite having no physical evidence.

We are in times where trials, rejections, pain, and failure try to limit our sight. I’ve been there too. But today, together, let’s acknowledge God’s word and say:

“Lord, I see You. I see the miracles You will give me. I see the victories that can be won. I see the rest You have given.”

That’s how we give hope more life.

Run with it

When a word of prophecy is released, as children of Abraham, we are called to run with it, work with it, and faith it until we see it come to pass.

Many times, people say, “Someone gave me a prophetic word that I would do this or that.” But they fail to realize that just because a prophetic word is spoken does not make it automatic. Every word from God must be warred out in prayer, obedience, and faith.

God’s Word says,

“Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.”
 Habakkuk 2:2 (NKJV)

God gives visions to keep us from growing weary. He gives visions to keep us stable and focused. He gives visions so that we can carry a mental picture of what He intends to do. When we see it—when we hear the word of prophecy—He expects us to act on it, to nurture it, and to, by faith, make it our reality.

Vision gives divine strategy for the seasons ahead. It helps us navigate new paths and prepares our hearts for what is to come.

Vision is a revelation from God. It brings guidance and clarity. Whenever a word has left the mouth of God, the person who holds on to it in prayer, obedience, and work is the one who sees it fulfilled.

Habakkuk says, “Run with it.”
Run with what God has said! And whenever you meet a wall, go back to God and say, “Lord, Your word cannot return to You void. Show me the way.”

If He says jump, it is a strategy.
If He says run, it is a strategy.
If He says wait, that too is a strategy.

The dream Joseph interpreted was not just a revelation—it was a warning and a strategy to prepare for what was to come.

Friend, has God given you a word, a phrase, or even a sentence for this season?
Then take it to heart. The strategy for this season is simple:
Run with it. Build on it. Faith it—until it comes to pass.

The people of His Life

When God's word said Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, it is a solemn reminder that when we choose to come to God, we were once dead, but because we chose the Way, we received His life.
Each day, we are faced with a choice—or the choice. Sin is at our door, but what is your response to it? Our response to the knock on the door determines if we choose life that day.

John 14:6 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

As a trained linguist, as I look deep into the noun phrase "the way, the truth, and the life," I came to realize that Christ wasn't just giving a speech, but beyond that, He is giving a descriptive introduction of who He is—His entirety, His office, His mark upon us, and everything He represents to us.

Constantly through the Bible, the Holy Spirit inspired the writers to introduce God and His kingdom to man. When we study this, we come to the knowledge—and continually walk in the knowledge—that Christ is "The Everything."

We walk each day consciously knowing that we are not just living the kind of life we want. So when God says, “Talk to that person who said that thing that hurt you,” we forgive—not because we want to, but because we are the people of His Zoe—meaning life, eternal life, divine life, or the God-kind of life.

Our forgiveness, our repentance, our yes, our no, and every alignment isn't tied to the world’s definition or standard, but we live by the standard which Heaven prescribes and await the moment our works will be tested by fire.

Today, choose to say this: "I am a person of His Life."

It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and through me.

Imitate me Ephesians 5:1

In a time when people create images of themselves—whether or not it truly reflects who they are, or simply to mimic the trend of the moment—how do we cope? The enemy has set strategies to prevent people from knowing their true identity and from coming into the full knowledge of who they are in Christ.

It is very easy in these times to lose our essence when we follow trends without setting Godly and relevant standards to resist the devil. Without this, we risk losing our place and essence.

But Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 4:16, declared: “Imitate me.” Paul foresaw what was to come. He saw how the followers of Christ would be treated as fools, old school, and despised. Yet he said, “I do not write these things to shame you, but to warn you.”

Friends, we are living in a season where the enemy is fighting tooth and nail to strip God’s people of their essence, to push them from their place, and to make them wanderers upon the earth. Yet Paul’s instruction remains: “Imitate me.”

In this time, we must cry out for the Holy Spirit to quicken our perception, breathe upon our minds, and cause us to be super-sensitive to the times and seasons. Without Him, we lose our essence and our position in the Kingdom. The Scripture commands us: “Be imitators of God.”

Friends, the gospel of Christ is not old-fashioned. It is eternal. It speaks to the past, the present, the future, and the hereafter. There is no better person to imitate than God Himself.

The Lord once said to Job in Job 38:1–3:

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
‘Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’”

This word reminds us not to despise the Scriptures as though they are outdated. God asks, “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?” Much of what the world calls wisdom today is nothing but dark counsel that leads astray.

So, when God asks you today: “Who are you imitating?”—what will your response be?

There is none as timeless as God. He is both ancient and ever-present, both eternal and relevant. There is no better model to imitate than the Lord Jesus Christ himself. He saw the past, the present, and the future, and yet He chose to walk in obedience.

Friends, the time has come for us to be Christians not just by words, but by action. Let us live as imitators of God, holding firmly to our essence in Him.

The voice of the Lord.

There was a time I heard the voice of God, and I was amazed at how it sounded—thundering yet still. The words came into the real estate of my mind, and my spirit man heard them as though I was reading the Bible. He spoke through the Scriptures; it was as if the Bible itself was speaking through a loudspeaker. I could hear it, I knew it, and I was on the floor in awe.

Friends, I have come to share this experience with you to let you know that the voice of God has the power to bring stillness to you in the midst of a storm.

The voice of God carries a force that thunders as it restores things to their rightful place. The voice of God is not drama; it is not noise. The voice of God is stillness in the midst of trouble.

His voice is His hand, setting things right.
His voice questions the reasons behind the way you act.
His voice challenges your dry bones, examines your foundation, and asks whether you believe this is the fullness He has prepared for you.

Ezekiel 37:3
And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

We are all actors in the story God has written. Yet the Lord has made allowances for us to come to Him when we err—through the storm, through the busyness, through the chaos. He says, “Come. I know. I see. I hear. And I can restore you. I can revive you. I can bring you into the fullness of what I have written concerning you.”

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.

Yes, I know you have tried, but I did not create you to do life on your own. I created you to do life with Me. So come. Scripture says He stands at the door of our hearts, knocking and seeking that we would be kind enough to let Him in.

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Oh friend, how wonderful it would be if you could hear His voice guiding you softly in the way you should go.

I pray that today we will come into alignment with the Lord, that we will open the doors of our hearts and let Him come in to dine with us. He is ready, willing, and set.
