"...If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." - James 1:5
“If any lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives liberally.”
Recently, I took up a new project. After working on it for a while, I became stuck—burnt out and overwhelmed. I went to sleep worried, pondering what to do next. Somewhere between sleep and wakefulness, the Holy Spirit spoke to me: Search out a scripture for your need and bring it to God.
And the scripture that dropped into my spirit was this:
“If any lacks wisdom…”
Those very first words kept echoing in my mind—over and over again.
How do you deal with life’s issues?
How do you handle moments when it feels like, “I’m definitely going to regret this choice”?
I’ve often heard it said that God never created us to do life independent of Him. Even after creating Adam and Eve, He still came into the garden to walk with them, to talk with them, and to instruct them in the way they should go.
Perhaps He knew they could become overwhelmed if He didn’t visit them—if He didn’t give them a template for navigating the life He had entrusted to them.
That divine guidance gave humanity a clear-cut way to live. Adam knew his responsibility—to name the animals and every living creature. They understood timing, purpose, and order because the Spirit of the Lord placed within them a clear-cut mark.
I often find myself asking, “What’s your point exactly?” in conversations I struggle to follow. But have we truly taken the journey of asking God:
“What is the clear-cut mark?”
“How do I build this new business?”
“How do I move in this season?”
Yes, I know I’ve attended great schools. Yes, I have knowledge. But is there a wisdom—hidden in the wells of God—that can give me not just a mark, but the mark?
Precision.
That is what God has been whispering in my spirit. And He is saying:
“This is what I want to give you in this new month. I want you to hit the mark for this season.”
What is that thing that has left you exposed—slipping through every shade of defenselessness?
God is asking:
Is there a wisdom that you lack?
Ask of Me, for I am the One who gives liberally.
Come to the liberal Giver today.
Come to the Giver who withholds nothing.
Stay revived!
