The Power of Thanksgiving in Difficult Times

Life may not have given you everything you desire, but you are no longer where you used to be. That alone is a testimony. Thanksgiving is more than a response to blessings—it is an application for more. When we thank God, we position ourselves to receive, because gratitude opens the doors to the realm of divine help and supernatural supplies, which is evident in the life of David.

We do not thank God only when everything is perfect; we thank Him even when things are far from what we hoped for. Thanksgiving sets the atmosphere for miracles. And miracles are not always loud—being alive is a miracle. Waking up, eating, drinking, and even being able to use the bathroom at the end of the day are blessings we often overlook.

Some time ago, my sister lost her phone and was sad for a while. In that moment of disappointment, a thought came to her: What if this wasn’t just about a stolen phone? What if it was an exchange? Sometimes, the things we lose are things God uses to protect us from what the enemy intended. The Bible says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” (Psalm 23:5)

The best way to express gratitude is not when everything makes sense, but in the midst of chaos. When challenges arise, raise a chant of thanksgiving to Heaven. Declare the goodness of God, and watch Him move on your behalf.

It is Wisdom to let God guide you

Hosea 14:9 (NKJV)
Who is wise? Let him understand these things.
Who is prudent? Let him know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right;
The righteous walk in them,
But transgressors stumble in them.

Most times, people get into arguments where we try to lower the standards of Christianity—deciding what should be obeyed and what should not. In this present time, many believe that knowing God is proven by having a lot to say, by sounding logical, or by expressing personal concepts.

But to truly know God is to treasure His Word, his instructions. To know God is to commune with Him, to fear Him, and to honor His voice. When we genuinely fear the Lord, there are conversations we cannot engage in. There are things we simply cannot do—not because we are trying to appear holy, but because we cannot afford to lose intimacy with Him. We dread the thought of not hearing Him speak.

To be wise is to let Him guide you. Wisdom is not measured by the multitude of your words; it is reflected in your daily alignment and willingness to let God lead. Wisdom is not determined by how much you say or how many people follow you, but by your ability to walk in the ways of the Lord.

The way of the Lord is righteous, the way of the Lord is prudent. Those who walk in it do not go missing; those who walk in it do not lose their way. Narrow is the path that leads to God and righteousness, and though the broad way exists, the Lord lovingly urges us to choose the narrow path—because in it, there is light. On that path, you encounter God in His fullness.

Seeking God's word in silent Turbulence

For a while now, I have been seeking answers—wondering, reflecting, and searching through my mind to understand what exactly went wrong or what dooris open. During this period, all I could sense was a silent kind of turbulence. It was easy to relax and ignore it, but deep within, I knew this was not the will of God.

And if God allowed it, then there must be something He wants me to pay attention to.

This is why, when you pray, you must pay attention to what is happening within—so you can discern when God is saying, “Check that place in your life; something is there.”

So I searched.

I searched.

I searched for the possible transaction that opened the door.

I searched because my mind, my spirit, and the Word of God are one weapons I go to war with—so they must be aligned, strengthened, and in place.

Scripture says:

“The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” — Psalm 119:130 (KJV)

The Word of God has the power to break the yoke of Satan over our minds, spirits, and souls.

The gate of the spirit is a place where transactions are made—transactions that can speak long after we are gone. This is why the enemy fights for your mind. He knows that if he can access it, he can influence it as he pleases.

That is why Scripture warns:

“Guard your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” — Proverbs 4:23

Beloved, there is a personal word God has for everything you may be experiencing. But you cannot understand it until you come to Him. As King, He watches to see you call on Him. He wants to hear you ask. He desires your questions..

Today, I invite you:

Make God’s Word the final authority over your life.

Make Him your priority, the light that guides your path.

When you do, He gives you insight on how to live.

Life with Jesus is not storm-free, but it is victory-guaranteed.

The answers you seek are found in your secret place—where only you and God can transact. We may be billions on the earth, but when you come before Him, it is you He meets. It is you He speaks to. It is you He strengthens.

“That the Eyes of My Understanding Be Enlightened”

Many times, we rush through Scriptures and convince ourselves that we understand it. We read the words as they appear, forgetting that the Bible is not an ordinary book. These are not just letters on a page—they are Spirit-breathed, carried from the heart of God, written by men moved by the Holy Ghost.
So when I come to the Word, I cannot rely on my human mind alone. I must depend completely on the Holy Ghost for revelation, for interpretation and for insight.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness...

“That the eyes of my understanding be enlightened” has become a cry that rises from the depth of my spirit. I have seen enough to know that the Word of God is not passive—it is alive, sharp like a two-edged sword. It cuts through confusion, breaks stagnation, shatters doubt, and exposes the lies the enemy whispers.

Because of this, my heart longs—truly longs—for my understanding to be opened wide. I do not want to read Scripture through the lens of my emotions or assumptions. I want the Holy Ghost to breathe on every word until it becomes life in me. I want His voice to echo in my spirit, His light to illuminate the truth, His presence to transform my thinking.

I do not study because I know it all. I study because I’m desperate to find GOD.
I do not pray because my problems are many. I pray because my hunger to find Him is greater than the answers I seek, Lord Jesus cause me to see your face these are the yearning of my heart.
I am searching—earnestly, continually—until I step into that place where I can say with certainty,
“I have found God today.”

That I may know You, Lord, and the power of Your resurrection.
Open the eyes of my understanding. Let me see You as You are. Reveal myself to me. Draw me closer until I truly find You.

These are the groanings of my heart, O Lord.

As you go through today may these words filter into your spirit ans may it be your prayers too.
