While reading Daniel chapter 3, every word stood out to me. In every verse, there was a contention—one that was strategically aimed at the position the three Hebrew men had acquired.
At the beginning, it was said that everyone of high position was gathered. The instruction was clear: everyone must bow. But how come these men noticed that the three Hebrew boys in particular did not bow? They had been watching, lurking, waiting for the day these boys would fall. And maybe, just maybe, when they finally fell, they would rejoice—"The strangers who came to take our shine have finally been cut off."
This is exactly the strategy Satan often uses against us:
- If you don’t follow a particular order, you’ll be cut off.
- If you don’t sign the deal, even when your spirit isn’t at peace, you’ll be cut off.
- Your spouse will cut you off.
- Your kids will cut you off.
- Your customers will cut you off.
And Satan plays these tunes repeatedly, singing that same one-liner: "You’ll be cut off."
But here's the real question: Who is your trust in?
Who do you depend on?
Where is your foundation rooted?
Nebuchadnezzar thought he could manipulate the situation: “Bow to the image I built or be thrown into the fiery furnace” (paraphrased). He acted like he had all the power. But God responded through the boys:
"I am your King.
I gave you your glory.
I make the choices, not you.
You cannot cut off who I haven’t cut off."
Daniel 3:19 (MSG):
“Nebuchadnezzar, his face purple with anger, cut off Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He ordered the furnace to be fired up seven times hotter than usual. He ordered some strong men from the army to tie them up, hands and feet, and throw them into the roaring furnace.”
To the world, it looked like the end had come. But to the God who never forgets those who stand for Him, He declared:
"I will make this fire your light. I will show them I am with you. You are Mine."
For every “cut off” the enemy has whispered into your mind to keep you bound, God is saying:
"I’ve got a counter sound. If you can just posture yourself in Me..."
Daniel 3:26:
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire.”
Today, we choose to lay our lives on the line in defiance of Satan’s cut off, knowing this:
We will walk out of the fire.
Stay Revived!
