When the Lord Gives You a Seed—The Master Gets Hungry Too

Again and again, whenever I read the story of the fig tree that Jesus cursed, my focus is often on the tree itself—on the fact that it didn’t bear fruit, even though it was its season. The Master had a need for it to bear fruit, but when He came to it, all He found were leaves.

So today, I’m focusing on the leaves in our lives—the leaves that should have matured into fruit, but remained stuck because we couldn’t discern our seasons.

What if we are the fig tree?
What if the Master comes today, hungry for fruit—would He find any on our branches?

The Master gets hungry too.
These words ran through my mind as I meditated on this powerful encounter between Jesus and the fig tree.

What is that seed Jesus has placed in your hands?
If He were to have lunch, dinner, or breakfast with you today, would He find edible, life-giving fruit?

Just like how sin wanted to make babies with Cain, Jesus wants to make spiritual offspring with us—fruits that give life.
He desires to see fruit in your marriage, business, career, and relationships. He wants to bring light into your spirit that will swallow up the darkness in everyday life.

He says:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock…”
(Revelation 3:20)

He wants to dine with us. He wants to eat the meal we’ve prepared with our lives.

But here’s the real question:
- If Jesus had to eat from your table, would the meal be edible?
- Would He bless it—or curse it?
- Can Jesus eat from your life’s table?

What have you done with the seed the Lord has given you?
