The Closet Moment

When was the last time you went into your closet to pray?

Scripture says in Matthew 6:6 —

“But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

Sometimes, the moment you enter your place of prayer, thoughts begin to flood your mind — what you’ll eat afterward, what to cook, that unfinished contract, or a pending task. But the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person is most powerful when distractions are silenced and the heart is fixed on Jesus.

Matthew 14:23 says,

“And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.”

Jesus needed the silence. He needed the stillness. He needed His disciples to stop asking, “Master, where are we going next? What are we eating tonight? How much is left in the purse?”

He needed that closet moment to commune with the Father.

The power you draw in times of trouble doesn’t come from the prayer you pray during the trouble — but from the strength built before the trouble ever shows up.

Friends, God desires that we have those closet moments with Him — those quiet times where He communes His heart to us.

Step aside from the noise.

Step aside from the chaos.

And just pray —

Pray until you feel a ventilation.

Pray until you sense the movement of the Holy Ghost within you.

When God created man and placed him in Eden, He knew man didn’t know how to live — that’s why He came daily to commune with him and teach him life.

So when you pray, don’t just mutter words. Don’t just speak in tongues without direction. Go into your closet.

That’s the winning posture.

Can We Expect Only the Good From God?

Yesterday, I told a friend that being a Christian is a journey — a journey of becoming, of being transformed, made whole, and restored. God works in each of us when we say “yes” to Him and consciously allow Him to work in us.

At some point, I thought I had valid excuses not to show up. I’m weak. Can I just take a break? Should I relax? She didn’t speak to me the way I wanted. The leader didn’t give us a choice; he imposed it. I don’t like the new leader. The reasons went on and on. But the more I reflected, the more I realized the focus wasn’t on what others did wrong — it was about me.

I had chosen to think I was responsible only for myself, forgetting that I am owned by God. Every choice I make shouldn’t be driven by my feelings or emotions, but by the understanding that everything I do is part of God transforming me into His image and likeness.

If I am truly being transformed, I will be pressed and crushed on every side — because that’s how Christ molds us into His desired form. The process isn’t always sweet or beautiful, but the Potter is at work, shaping me into a vessel fit for His use. My right response, then, is simple: “Yes, Lord, You can work in me.”

Do a work in me, Lord, so that I may know how to posture myself to birth Your agenda for my life.

Yes, we have accepted the call to salvation — but can we go further? Can we submit fully to the Messiah as Lord over our lives?

We believe, and in expressing that belief, we consciously choose to submit. God, being good, reveals His goodness even when He reprimands us. We must trust that His plans are always for our good.

 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” 

Romans 8:28 (KJV)

If God says “no,” it is for my good.

If He says “yes,” it is for my good too.

Why Salvation?

There are so many things God has placed in us that can only find expression when we come into the Kingdom of Light. Until we say “yes” to His call, we can’t truly step into the fullness of God’s agenda for our lives.

Have you believed?

God isn’t coming for those who haven’t believed but for those who are expectantly waiting for Him.

Today, He says, “Believe in Me, and I will establish you.”

When I was younger, I chose God because it felt like the safest option. I thought with Him, life would be smooth—no suffering, just joy all the way. But as I grew older, I realized choosing God came with much more depth, clarity, and understanding—things my childlike mind couldn’t grasp then.

Life asked me tough questions in moments of pain. It challenged my faith:

“Lord, You said if I believe, You’ll establish me. So why don’t I feel established? Why does my situation—my home, career, marriage, business, even my mind—still feel shaky?”

And in those moments, God gently takes me by the hand and walks me back through His Word:

“And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, ‘Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper.’” 

 2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV)

When Israel first received this promise, they weren’t yet established—they were still learning to be rooted in the Promised Land. They were in a time of war. But  Jehoshaphat charged them to believe, believed in the God who had saved and delivered them time and time again.

Salvation is a daily call to believe.

The faith that carried us yesterday must be renewed today—because every new day brings a fresh opportunity to believe again.

Where I come from, there’s a common phrase among young people:

 “We go again today.

Yesterday might not have gone as planned, but today—we go again.

We believe again.

Because the equation remains the same:

Believe = Establishment

So, who do you believe in?

Do you believe that God is good—and that His goodness reflects in your life?

Then declare it boldly:

“I believe, and therefore I am established!”

The Lord will restore

Hello and welcome to the 11th month of the year!

By now, many of us have seen some of our goals come to pass, while others are still waiting. But I bring you a short word of encouragement: it’s not too late.

God can still give you that very thing you desire — just trust Him.

Scripture says,

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”

📖 Joel 2:25 (KJV)

When it comes to God, there are no lost years, because He holds time in His hands. He has the power to redeem lost seasons and restore what seemed completely gone.

The locust, cankerworm, caterpillar, and palmerworm represent different stages of destruction — symbolic of things that have devoured your joy, opportunities, or blessings. But God’s assurance remains: He will restore.

It might be the 11th month, and things may seem blurry or unfinished, but remember — God will perfect all that concerns you. Restoration is coming!
